To protect and empower vulnerable children by promoting their rights, improving access to education, healthcare, and essential services, and advocating against all forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Who we are
NDIHO Children Foundation is a Uganda-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights and well-being of vulnerable children. Established in 2020 by the family of Mzee Bogere, the foundation was created out of a deep commitment to support children in need and give them hope for a better future.
The foundation currently supports over 250 children, including 170 girls and 80 boys, by providing care, protection, and access to essential services. NDIHO Children Foundation operates in Muwayo Town Council, Bugiri District, where it actively serves and uplifts the surrounding community.
Guided by key principles such as non-discrimination, child participation, the best interests of the child, and the fundamental rights to life, survival, and development, the organization ensures that every child is treated with dignity and fairness.
We believe that every child deserves to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment, free from violence, abuse, and exploitation. Our work focuses on ensuring access to quality education, healthcare, nutrition, and clean water, while also promoting emotional and social well-being.
Since its establishment, NDIHO Children Foundation has been actively addressing critical challenges affecting children and families in the community, including poverty, neglect, limited access to education, and harmful social practices. We are committed to advocating for children’s rights, strengthening communities, and implementing sustainable and innovative programs that uplift and protect every child under our care.
SPONSOR A CHILD PROJECT
Our sponsorship program supports children from poor and vulnerable backgrounds to enroll, keep in school and complete their education. We provide children with school fees and other school needs as well as supporting children and their families to becomes economically self reliant.
We focus on children from pre-school to higher institutions of learning – giving children a life time opportunity to support themselves, their families and the community where they leave.
PROJECTS
PIGGERY
The foundation manages a piggery project with 2 mature pigs and 10 piglets. This project generates income through breeding and sales, helping to meet basic needs and support the welfare of the children.
BRICK LAYING
NDIHO Children Foundation has produced over 12,000 bricks through its brick-laying project. This initiative supports construction activities and creates an additional income stream to improve living conditions for the children.
AGRICULTURE
Through its agriculture program, the foundation grows food crops to feed the children and reduce food costs. This ensures food security and promotes self-reliance within the organization.
RABBIT REARING
The foundation rears over 6 rabbits as part of a small livestock project. This provides an additional source of nutrition and income, while also teaching children basic animal care skills.
NDIHO Children Foundation runs a poultry project with over 90 birds. This initiative helps provide a reliable source of eggs and income, supporting children’s nutrition and contributing to the sustainability of the foundation.
Since 2020, Ndiho Children Foundation Uganda has been championing the rights of all children to live peacefully & without exploitation, to benefit from quality free education, to thrive in economic security & justice, and to prosper with access to clean water, good health care, & nutrition.
